Sourced from a cross-section of upper rows that stretch across Mindego Ridge, rather than from a specific block, the 2023 Pinot Noir Mindego Ridge Vineyard Ridge Top presents distinctly floral and vivid aromas compared to the standard bottling, along with an added degree of tension, lift and mouthfeel depth. The finish is stunning and impeccably balanced, lingering with remarkable depth and dimension. Both ethereal and more intense than the standard bottling, this is one of the best renditions of this vineyard I have tasted.

There is a visceral quality to the 2023 Pinot Noir Bohan Graveyard Block that clearly sets it apart from the standard bottling, opening with a bouquet that balances lush red fruit aromas with notes of iron and dried spices. It is deep and resonant on the palate, transitioning into an intense, glacial finish with a remarkably clear bass register and an added lift from mineral-driven, iron-tinted notes at the top end. I suspect this will benefit from some time in the cellar, and it may potentially be the longest-lived of these releases from Jamie Kutch.

A leading expression of a modern classic site in Corralitos, this wine should age beautifully over the next decade, if not longer.

A beautiful counterpoint to the more powerful and slow-moving McDougall bottling, the 2023 Pinot Noir Falstaff Vineyard is intensely focused and mineral-driven on the nose, gradually developing additional notes of fresh herbs and dried flowers. The palate is admirably sleek and tensile, seamlessly moving into a soaring, mineral-driven and focused finish. The energy here is palpable, delivered with patience and elegance. I look forward to following this in the cellar over the next decade.

The palate strikes a beautiful midpoint between supple and slender, releasing into an effortless finish grounded by a sappy, slow-moving core of succulent fruits. As primary as this is today, it wears the energy and clarity of the vintage on its sleeve and should develop beautifully in the cellar.
